A cute bear and a cookie are a lovely couple. In fact, these were two photographs that I combined into one subject - the so-called "composite reference" was obtained.

This lesson is devoted to the intricacies and nuances of a composite reference - from the point of view of both building a line drawing and, most importantly, working with color. I will tell you in detail and show why for this plot we use this particular color gamut, and not another.

You'll need at this lesson:

  1. Pencil (HB), eraser and gag;
  2. Sketchbook with smooth marker paper that requires a backing. Sketchbooks that do not allow ink to pass to the back will not work for the lesson. The best to use is my sketchbook, in which I draw myself - including this lesson;
  3. Copic markers with brush tip. The color palette is on the last slide for this lesson. You can take alcohol markers of similar color. If you have markers from other manufacturers, you need to choose the colors yourself;
  4. White gel pen (e.g. GELLY ROLL Sakura);
  5. Faber-Castell pencils: black (#199), white (#101), dark gray (#175), brown (#176) or any other (e.g. KOH-I-NOOR, Derwent, Lyra, etc.);
  6. Free time and good mood!
